New Projects

19.04.12

So i have been talking about this for a while online via facebook and other such social networks, but its finally time for me to take a little 'me' time. I've spent the last 4 years working pretty solidly for hundreds of clients, and i've finally decided its time to get down to some personal projects i have been wanting to do for a lonnnnnnnng time.

So what does this mean for the rest of the year? Well, not much will change, i have a TON of work to upload still which i will be doing so over the next few months, and one of the projects i'm working on is some BIG prints for the online store. I'm still going to be taking on jobs here and there, so if interested in getting something done don't hesitate to get in contact, i'm just working on less client work for the moment.

Needless to say, more will be revealed later in the year about everything, but if things seem quiet it's for a very good reason!

In other news, Landis released a new video last week which you can check out here, it contains footage from our debut show as well as some nice behind the scenes footage. We hope to doing quite a lot more later in the year as well.

Heres a little look at what i've been doing the last few weeks too..

As always, check out the store and keep checking back for updates!

TEASER!

21.03.12

So, its been a busy month for me. I've been mainly working away at catching up on client work after my idiotic collarbone break in January, but i'm pretty much up to speed! So much so that my plan is to take April and hopefully May to work on personal work exclusively. I have 3 big big projects im starting that will potentially dictate the next couple of years of my life, if all goes according to plan that is..!

Needless to say, as usual, watch this space. In the meantime, check in at the store for prints and check out my band Landis who will also hopefully be ramping up for some shows shortly!

Heres a little teaser of some of the stuff i've been working on this month.

Rotten to the Core

22.02.12

For the last 12 months ive been working away in a new band that me and some old friends of mine formed. Its essentially a place for us to write music that we enjoy and we would listen to, we have no plans for world domination...we just want to write good songs. Finally we have put together our first EP 'Rotten to the Core', and we have now put this up online for streaming and free download! Its essentially a mixture of hardcore and metal, with influences from Meshuggah, Metallica, Bane and even Brad Paisley (but i tend to keep that last part quiet). The EP was recorded by Thomas Mitchener and mixed by Steve Sears (who both play in the awesome Spycatcher)

Please check out the 18 minutes of finely produced audio beauty and share amongst the world! You can check us out on facebook, twitter or soundcloud (where you can download the 4 tracks)

Broken

26.01.12

So as you may have read on my various social networking feeds...i broke my collarbone. How? well it was a not so extreme fall whilst out skiing and snowboarding with some friends this new years. Long story short though, luckily it was my left shoulder that is broken and will not be putting me out of action for too long!

Its been a strange experience so far, only two weeks in and ive had to have surgery to put a plate in to pull my collarbone back together, first time ive been in hospital since i was 3 and first time ive ever needed surgery like this. The operation/accident has meant my left arm is fairly weak, but my hands are fine, so all in all its looking pretty good and i should make a full recovery within a couple of months. Needless to say its certainly given me great admiration for those that go through far worse than i have and need to have months and months of physio. I wouldnt say its been a life changing experience but has certainly changed my perspective on a few things.

Either way, as far as drawing and playing music, i should be up and back at it within the week of posting this today, maybe not at full force but this isnt going to stop me! In the downtime at home i have had a ton of ideas for prints and new work this year. Ive had a brand new print that i am super proud of come out with Skull & Heart, which you can purchase here. Ive also put up some new(ish) work on the portfolio, it was due a boost of new work! and i also have some VERY limited prints up in the shop right now. Heres some details below..

-First up is Francesca. This is a very special piece to me, i created it about 4 years ago now, and originally printed it at a scale just over A0, i then made these versions that are a little bit smaller. They were hand printed by me on 300gsm beautiful paper with a cyan/magenta gradient. They are limited to 17 and will never be printed again, this is essentially the piece that made me the artist i am today, it was an experiment in style and i didnt look back! you can check it out here and here.

-Secondly i have two beautiful editions of prints from my Mumford clothing range, Prologue and Rites. These were previously available from the US, but i now have my hands on limited editions of each, so will be able to sign and number these personally. This is is the last time they will be printed. They are offset Litho prints on 230 gsm paper and are absolutely stunning in the print quality!

-Finally i have a VERY limited quantity of some really old Gallows prints, these were produced in 2007 for a show Gallows played in london at the 100 Club, it was early on in the bands rise, but i just found these hidden away the other day. So if interested snap them up quickly as they WILL go. You can find them in the store right here.

PS: Not my X-ray unfortunately, but thats the metal monster they put in my shoulder!

Skull & Heart

16.01.12

So finally it is time for me to announce Skull & Heart properly! Some of you may have seen the name bouncing around on my site and twitter for a while, well let me explain. Skull & Heart is a new print company i am involved in for the launch, specialising in exclusive prints at an affordable price from artists from throughout the world.

For the launch there are two beautiful prints, one from one of the most talented artists i have ever had the pleasure of knowing, William Exley, and another from myself. The prints have been printed with love and care by whiteduck who always do an incredible job and create stunning prints. These two are printed with two colours on white paper and then the black is printed over with a varnish to give the whole print a stunning gloss finish.

This project is very much a labour of love and Skull & Heart hope to be bringing beautiful prints to the public at an affordable price on a regular basis throughout the year! please check out the site and store and support S&H on facebook and twitter and spread the love!

So, things have a been a little quiet on the site this month, needless to say im working away as usual on many things, firstly..new print!
